We\u2019ve updated the collection of our native clients by adding a client for the Linux Ubuntu OS.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n Gaming among Linux users is as popular as on other operating systems but is often limited by the lack of support from game developers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Unfortunately, when Linux gamers want to play all those games available on Windows, they typically have to use software workarounds or dual boot to run Windows applications.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n According to our statistics, in 2021, the number of Boosteroid users playing in a browser on Linux PCs kept growing but was only at 2%. Enhancing support for the Linux community is a great way to give even more Linux users access to any game available to their friends on Windows.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Boosteroid now offers the application that turns a Linux machine into a powerful gaming PC, using the rendering power of high-end remote servers.<\/span><\/p>\n Why would one want to use the native client?\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n As we all know, cloud gaming providers can neither control nor influence the end users\u2019 connection quality. To compensate for occasional data loss, Boosteroid uses adaptive bitrate technology.<\/span><\/p>\n To put it simply, this means detecting a user’s network conditions and bandwidth capacity in real-time and dynamically matching the quality of the stream to compensate for occasional packet losses.<\/span><\/p>\n Using the native client makes the gaming process even more comfortable due to the more efficient handling of packets. The app generates excessive packets, meaning that it is more likely that the user will get the whole stream when the losses appear.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Also, the client will undoubtedly be appealing to a young audience, which cannot yet afford to purchase a licensed version of the Windows OS.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
