Play AAA PC Games on Raspberry Pi 4 and 5 with Boosteroid
Raspberry Pi computers have found their way into countless projects, from home automation and media centers to robotics and retro gaming systems. Now, there’s another way to put these versatile little computers to work – playing PC games through Boosteroid.
Boosteroid is now available for Raspberry Pi 4, with Raspberry Pi 5 support to be added soon, bringing cloud gaming to the popular family of single-board computers through a dedicated Raspberry Pi OS image.
Big games on a tiny computer
Raspberry Pi computers are designed for a wide range of computing tasks, and cloud gaming adds another possibility – playing demanding PC games without the need for powerful local hardware. With Boosteroid, games run on remote GPU servers, which handle the computation and graphics rendering. The resulting video is streamed to the Raspberry Pi, while player inputs are transmitted back to the servers.
This means Raspberry Pi owners can enjoy PC games from their gaming libraries without relying on powerful local gaming hardware.
An experience tailored for Raspberry Pi
To bring Boosteroid to Raspberry Pi, we’ve prepared a dedicated system image based on Raspberry Pi OS, with the Boosteroid client and its configuration optimized for these compact computers.
The image is designed to provide a streamlined cloud gaming experience on both devices. With this addition, Raspberry Pi joins Boosteroid’s growing family of supported platforms, including Windows, macOS, Linux, smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, and more.
